Online Marketing Strategy Day 3 IMRemarkable
Filed Under Blogging, Copywriting, Market Research, Online Marketing, Social Media | 2 Comments
Hi, Matt Detrick here and this is Day 3 of the IM Remarkable online marketing strategy competition. As you remember from Day 1, the niche I chose is “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” What happened, and where is Day 2….
Yesterday, a family member was using the computer all day so by the time I had access on our home computer, I was burnt out from the day. I did manage to make it to the library to get something done, proving that absolutely NO OBSTACLES can stop you. I really didn’t feel like walking to the library to use the computer and it would have been MUCH easier to stay at home and say “oh, i’ll do that tomorrow”
Get up off your butt and take action, the rest is only an excuse!
While at the library yesterday, I created 15 social bookmarking accounts because I had an hour and it took that long to complete the registration for each account.
I highly recommend automating social bookmark account signup whenever possible as that will shave precious time you can use to do whatever your core competency is to bring in cashola for your business.
Below, you’ll find videos produced using Camtasia to document different things completed towards the IM Remarkable project. The plugin used is called “Simple Flash Video Plugin”
(sidenote: having a bit of difficulty getting this plugin to work correctly so I may simply create a new marketing youtube channel and serve the videos that way instead….
… Lesson here? There’s ALWAYS another way)
UPDATE: here’s the youtube video #1 about looking through the eyes of Google…
Here’s Video #2 for Social Bookmarking & The IMportance of Business Automation:
And here is video #3 about the importance of tracking what you do within a marketing project and business automation:
And here’s the last video for now about Twitter and why it’s important to upload a picture to your profile:
Here is a picture of the squidoo account created earlier today:

And lastly, here is a picture of the initial lens layout:

That’s it for right now, next on the list is finding content for the web 2.0 properties, and linking to all of them from the blogger blog.
Also have to do some competition spying to see what others in the IMRemarkable competition are doing so if there’s anything I am missing, I can add it to my arsenal. Even though I may already know a lot of online marketing strategy, I can ALWAYS learn something from other people.
Stay tuned for the next post documenting my online marketing journey, which by the way you can use to augment your marketing, or if you don’t want to do it yourself, I’m for hire.
Take care and I’ll see you next time.

Well, here we go with a full fledged marketing project showcasing an online marketing strategy using IMRemarkable from Howie Schwartz.
If you want to get in on the action, too, check out:
http://www.imremarkable.com/blog
but hurry up because the IMRemarkable competition only runs through July 9, 2009 at midnight. You have a chance to roll up in style to a workshop Howie is putting on all accomodations taken care of by the business builder (not a hobbyist) himself: Howie Schwartz.
We had to choose a niche out of a PDF Howie gave out containing 36 niches he has researched over time. The PDF also shows different strategies and marketing angles for various markets.
I chose the “Quit Smoking” niche because a few people close to me smoke, so it’s a topic that’s near to me. Maybe if they read the posts and/or find my content on the net’ it will help them to quit smoking, too. I used to smoke in the Marine Corps and have since quit and my lungs are definitely celebrating because it no longer feels like a midget is sitting on my chest.
I promise to post videos going forward to make it easier to see what I’m actually doing.
So what did I do so far?
1. Set up a blogger blog at Quit Smoking Hypnosis
2. Set up a twitter account at http://www.Twitter.com/thequitsmoking
3. Added the Twitter RSS Feed to the blogger blog
4. Set up a Gmail account especially for this project at quitsmokinghypnosistips at gmail dot com
5. Created this post to document my journey to help other smart marketers just like you follow my path to success.
6. Posted the first post to the blogger blog
7. Pinged the blogger blog in Google blogsearch
8. Pinged the blogger blog in Pingoat.com
9. Added the “RSS Feed Subscription” gadget to the blogger blog
10. Linked to http://www.IMRemarkable.com on blogger blog
11. Copied and pasted the list of social bookmarking sites from socialmarker.com so I can sign up for each site to have even more distribution channels for my content

From what I remember in Howie’s free training, he says to do a full promotion for one keyword, so I’m starting with the “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” keyword since we only have 9 days.
I chose this keyword because I am an affiliate for Wendi.com and I remember one of her products is exactly that = quit smoking with hypnosis.
I’m not overthinking this one, I’m going with it since it’s the first idea that popped into my head. Overthinking it would cause me to still be thinking about it after July 9, 2009, and missing out on even participating in the IMRemarkable competition.
That’s it for now, have more work to do, will post what I did and results gotten to date.
Thanks for joining me on this online marketing strategy journey and stay tuned for videos, articles, podcasts, showing you the possibilities of online marketing when you get your back up off the wall and into massive action.
