Online Marketing Strategy With Howie Schwartz and IMRemarkable The Next Day

Filed Under Article Marketing, Online Marketing, Social Media | Leave a Comment

Today marks day 4 for me (I found out about the competition a day after it officially started) of the IMRemarkable competition with Howie Schwartz showing you online marketing strategy to change the game and BE remarkable.

I went back today to take screen shots of the ppc competition that I didn’t cover in the very first post about market research. Check out this post using online marketing strategy with the update about viable market research (hint: click the “online marketing strategy” underlined link about 16 words ago)

So, today, I fired up Market Samurai to check out the SEO competition and to look for sources of content so I don’t have the blank page blues.

Here’s a digital camera picture of my computer screen since Screen Grab For Firefox only does browser shots:

We see a lot of green (You Tube has only been around 4 years? seems like longer, though 4 years online is probably like 40 years offline) though we also see a lot of yellow as well. You can watch the Market Samurai Training videos to find out what that means because they’re the experts at their own software.

We see absolutely NO web 2.0 properties listed for the term “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” in either Google or Market Samurai other than the videos and ezine article. I did notice of both videos, both have ZERO back links to the page so could that be an opportunity?

So maybe a press release pointing back to the video, which directs viewers to my web 2.0 network of sites could be a winning strategy…

WE DON’T KNOW UNTIL WE TEST

If I had more time, I might contact the video owners to negotiate their You Tube account but I only have 5 more days so I’m leveraging what I have from where I am.

Sidenote: I thought about quitting this market due to what seems like a lot of resistance and lack of ranking web 2.0 properties like Squidoo and so forth. $#*#^ that though because I’m seeing this project through to the end and finishing it, and that’s that.

Successful people finish projects, learn from what didn’t work, throw the rest away, and put the lesson in their pocket to use later.

ONWARD

After performing a search in Market Samurai for “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” under the Find Content & Find Backlinks tabs, I see few web two properties listed at all under the specific keyword “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” so maybe this keyword market isn’t hip to this style of marketing OR this market recently got smacked for being overly spammy.

Huh, so I did the same search for “Quit Smoking Hypnosis” and Quit Smoking Hypnosis and noticed the search results change dramatically from when I did the search even a day ago. Interesting…

So here’s what I did today:

1. Google search for “Quit Smoking Forum” to find the most common questions people are asking about quitting smoking so I can use those in editorial/news style articles for the web two properties I’m building

2. Ezine Articles search for articles answering those common questions, which I will rewrite in my own words.

3. Rewrote one article for Squidoo Lens: http://www.Squidoo.com/quitsmokinghypnosistips

4. Posted article and a picture to Squidoo Lens

5. Searched You Tube for a video related to quit smoking hypnosis to take the place for now of the video I’ll create tomorrow

6. Added Squidoo Lens Feed to feedagg.com

7. Went through Squidoo Health Checker module and added additional keywords to the lens (only part suffering other than no traffic, which is normal for a new lens)

8. Pinged squidoo lens

9. Went back and added a text module to the Squidoo lens under the video module containing a picture of two arrows with a link to the blogger blog directly underneath the arrows.

10. Twittered about the lens under TheQuitSmoking

11. Pinged the Twitter update

12. Added a link to the twitter profile straight to the Squidoo Lens

… And that’s it for now because today’s the 4th of July and after working hard, it’s time to play hard.

I may or may not do more work today depending on family members usage of the computer. That’s it for now, so be well and I’ll see you in the next post for IMRemarkable.
